LaDonna Andeel bought a local tea room and decided to make it her own. She reopened as LD's Specialties and Gourmet Cafe on January 5, 2009. Cooking has always been a favorite hobby for LaDonna, and six years ago she turned her love into a home business. She opened a catering business and decorated specialty cakes and the idea took off! LaDonna loves to share her culinary talents with others and when she heard that tea room owners were looking for a buyer, she seized the opportunity. After a few weeks of renovation and updating the look, she reopened with a new zeal. "We kept the same attitude, but brought it into the 21st century," she said. LD's Specialties serves real food for real people. The menu features home cooked soups, a variety of quiche, salads, sandwiches and desserts, all with a gourmet touch. Along with the lunch menu, she also adds a special home cooked meal every Thursday, such as Cittie's Baked Chicken Spaghetti, Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches, Fettuccini Chicken Salad and other favorites. LaDonna makes it a point to great each customer during your visit. She believes getting to know her customers and giving personal service is as important as great food. LaDonna plans to continue her catering business and also begin hosting parties, bridal and baby showers, and receptions at her cafe. "It's exciting," she said. "A little different for me, but I like it!" |
